Our Mission
Women & Children’s Free Restaurant & Community Kitchen (WCFR) is a vital safety net that fills nutritional gaps for women and children in need while fostering dignity and respect, both within our restaurant and in the community.
Who We Serve
We serve women, children, seniors and teens who struggle with nutrition insecurity and poverty that stem from a range of root causes. We planned to serve 100,000 meals in 2020, but the needs of our community quickly changed at the onset of the pandemic. We have served over 3.4 million meals since the onset of the pandemic through curbside services and partnerships with other nonprofit organizations. We serve our community with dignity and compassion, guided by the belief that everyone deserves good nutrition.
Our Programs
Curbside Services
Our curbside services are offered on a weekly basis. The restaurant-prepared family-sized meals, fresh protein, dariy, produce, and pantry staples are provided at no cost to the program participants.
Nutrition-to-Go
Through this unique program, we prepare and deliver nutrient-rich, communal and individually packaged meals to partner organizations. The service is offered at no cost to our partners – all food and financial donations to support this program are secured by WCFR. Collaboration allows our partner to do what they do best while we do what we do best.
