Benefits of Joining RSVP
RSVP makes volunteering easy and rewarding by connecting you with a volunteer assignment tailored to your interests, skills, and experience.
Membership is 100% FREE, and as an RSVP member you'll enjoy the following free benefits:
Membership in a national service organization:
As a federally-funded program, we rely on national performance measures to guide our efforts and ensure your work contributes to real, demonstrable impact in our community.
Support of RSVP staff:
In addition to matching you with the best volunteer assignment for you, our staff are available any time to resolve issues and ensure you have the most successful volunteering experience possible. We'll help you navigate the application process at your volunteer station, and, if you desire, we'll even accompany you on your first day to help you feel more comfortable.
All RSVP members are automatically covered with supplemental accident, personal liability, and excess automobile insurance while in service at an RSVP volunteer station or other RSVP-approved service activity and while traveling to/from their assigned volunteer stations.
Reimbursement for transportation costs:
RSVP volunteers may elect to receive reimbursement for mileage or bus fare when traveling to/from their assigned volunteer stations.
Invitation to volunteer recognition events and social gatherings:
We celebrate the contributions of our volunteers to the community with formal and informal events featuring food, fun, and friendship.
Senior Corps Volunteers are Healthier, Too!
In addition to the benefits you'll receive as an RSVP member, research shows that volunteering is good for the health and well-being of volunteers. Older adults who volunteer frequently live longer and report better health. Volunteering can also lead to new friendships and a more positive attitude.
